New Engine, Specs, Towing Capacity
Under the bonnet of the 2025 Chevy Traverse will be a new 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. It can deliver 315 hp, which is an improved result compared to the previous version. A V6 is dropped, mainly because of the unimpressive gas mileage. The turbo-four unit is going to improve the fuel economy. EPA is yet to release new ratings. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends power to a 2WD. A 4WD is optional, or standard if you pick the Z71 off-road edition. The new Traverse can tow up to 5,000 pounds, which is an average result for a mid-size SUV.
2025 Chevy Traverse Z71 and Other Grades
There will be 5 or 6 trim levels available for buyers of the mid-size SUV. The entry-level is the LS, like before. This time, Chevrolet will pack it with more features. The center of the infotainment system is a massive 17.7-inch screen. Of course, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. The company packs the base version with a Buckle to Drive safety suite that includes emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor, and a few more assist features. The LT was a favorite model in the past. A small investment brought a lot of goodies.
The Traverse RS is the sportiest version in the lineup. The focus is on the exterior appearance and interior comfort. The 2025 Chevy Traverse Z71 is finally available as a separate trim level, and not an optional package that requires some other grades and upgrades. The off-road model is packed with a 4×4, suspension lift, special wheels and tires, skid plates, and beefed-up bumpers. The High Country remains the most luxurious grade. It will draw attention with captain’s buckets in the middle row, which decreases seating capacity to six, panoramic sunroof, HUD, and Super Cruise package. This is probably GM’s best feature. Soon, Ultra Cruise is going to take the self-driving to the next level of autonomy.
2025 Chevy Traverse Prices
The seven-seat SUV is more expensive than before thanks to all the upgrades it brings. Expect the MSRP to start off under $40,000 for the base LS, and all other versions will be above this mark. High Country and Z71 could cost $60,000 or more. We expect a complete pricing and update on the Traverse EV. This one won’t be under $50k. It will get the Ultra Cruise system, while the range and recharge time are still under the question mark.
