2024 Ford F-150 Is Getting Mid-Cycle Refresh

If there’s one thing Ford knows to do right, that’s making a pickup. For decades, the F-150 has been the best-selling pickup in the world and the current generation is no exception. The current generation has been around for a couple of years and it’s doing pretty well. But, the company wants to keep that state, so it’s no surprise that updates are coming, already with the 2024 Ford F-150. The official premiere is in September, but the test mule is already on the road, without any cover.

So, as there is no camouflage, it’s pretty easy to see what kinds of changes are about to come. Of course, the most notable is the styling, which will get a couple of pretty nice touches. On the other hand, details about the interior are still a bit of a mystery, just like the powertrain department, which has been rumoured to get a few upgrades.

In any case, the presentation is in September and we expect production to start soon after.

2024 Ford F-150 Design

As mentioned, the 2024 Ford F-150 is getting a mid-cycle refresh. Even though the current generation has been around for a relatively short time, it will already get updates. The test mule, as mentioned, has already been on the road and we can see a couple of nice styling tweaks. Of course, there is nothing revolutionary, but the pickup indeed looks more attractive than before.

The key changes are at the front, where you can see things like new headlights, a new grille, and a reshaped bumper, while the rear end brings new taillights. Of course, many more smaller-scale changes are expected on the premiere, as the F-150 varies depending on the trim level, whereas each unit comes with a couple of exclusivities.

Interior Design

As for the interior design, details are still unavailable, but we presume there could be a few interesting updates. The current model already looks very nice, but there’s always room for nicer materials, dashboard tweaks, and new color schemes. Moreover, we might see a couple of new tech features as well, particularly in terms of the infotainment screen. The current model is already quite respectable, with the optional 12.0-inch screen and the latest SYNC4 interface. But, some sources speculate about the bigger screen. According to the latest reports, the 2024 Ford F-150 might get the same, massive 15.5-inch unit as the Expedition, which would find its place in the most luxurious trim levels.

On the other hand, the overall cabin layout will remain the same, which means there will be several configurations regarding cab style, bed length, etc. Traditionally, the F-150 features some of the biggest cabins in the class, so we have no doubt that next year’s model is about to remain among segment leaders.

2024 Ford F-150 Engines

Details about the powertrain are still unavailable, but we presume that some of the offered units could get power and torque upgrades, though we don’t expect to see some all-new engines introduced. The base 3.3-liter naturally-aspirated V6 most likely won’t change, which means it will continue with a max output of 290 horsepower.

Upgrades might happen on some of the turbocharged units, starting from the 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 that currently puts out 325 horsepower. The same is with the 3.5-liter unit, which currently puts out 400 horsepower in most variants, but brings a notable upgrade with the Raptor trim.

Finally, one of the best candidates for a power upgrade is the Coyote. Often considered one of the best V8s Ford has made in the last couple of decades, this 5.0-liter unit is currently rated at 400 horsepower. On the other hand, we don’t expect to see bigger changes in the hybrid version.

No matter the engine choice, the 2024 Ford F-150 will carry on with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

2024 Ford F-150 Release Date and Price

As mentioned, the 2024 Ford F-150 will have an official premiere in September, while the production should start soon after. As for the price, we presume that the next year could bring a slight increase compared to the current, 2023 model, which starts slightly under 36.000. Of course, Ram 1500 and Chevy Silverado will remain key competitors.
